Wednesday, April 4 to Saturday, April 28, 2012
Opening Reception: Thursday, April 5, 6 to 9 pm

Public Talk by Steven Evans, Saturday April 25

Drawn from the Steven Evans Collection, Seeking Solace celebrates the work of English photographer Francis Bedford (1816–1894), whose work concentrated on the picturesque landscapes and ecclesiastical ruins found in the British countryside, as well as impressive cathedral architecture. These subjects suited the tastes of Victorian society, which sought solace in nature, away from over-crowded and unhealthy urban centres. The exhibition is accompanied by a modest publication.

Sponsored by the Howard and Carole Tanenbaum Family Charitable Foundation and the Ryerson Image Centre

    • Hi Ross,

Thanks for your comment, it’s great to hear you’ll be at the show.

The Ryerson Gallery was renamed to the IMA Gallery last year to avoid confusion with the new Ryerson Image Centre opening on campus.
